Alps Industries Limited having its Registered Office at B2Loni Road Ind. Area Ghaziabad Uttar Pradesh wasincorporated as a Private Limited Company under the Companies Act 1956 on 11th May 1972 under the name andstyle of Alps Textiles Pvt Ltd. and subsequently convertedinto public limited company vide fresh certificate ofincorporation issued on 02/09/1994 and was renamed as AlpsIndustries Ltd. on Nov.15 1994 and another fresh certificate of incorporation was issued by ROC Kanpur.Alps Industries Ltd. (formerly known as Alps Textiles Ltd.)was promoted by Shri K.K. Agarwal a well known technocratand industrialist along with his associates. It initiallybegan its operation as partnership firm in 1962 byinstallation of handlooms for production of various typesof fabric and made ups and moderately increased thecapacity to 100 Looms to cater to the demand of hotelindustry and domestic market. They started supplying goodsto reputed chains of hotels like Oberoi Taj and ITDC.The firm was converted into a private limited company inMay 1972. In 1974 it started export of its products to tapthe overseas market. As early as in 1977 the company becamerecognised export house and is continuously enjoying thestatus till date. In 1987 Mr. Sandeep Agarwal presentlyManaging Director of the company joined the group andinitiated the diversification in the company by addinginterior decorative items. He introduced a new segment ofwail fabrics and vertical blinds with an idea to introducea new concept of decorative window coverings. The company achieved another milestone in 1989 by enteringinto the agreement with Levolor Lorentzen Inc. presentlyknown as Levolor Corporation one of the leadingmanufacturer of window coverings in U.S.A.to sell andmanufacture in India the line of ''Levolor'' Productsexclusively. The company subsequently introduced a newrange of Venetian blinds under the brand name of VistaLevolor. A new range of drapery and Curtain Rods was addedin product line to give a new vision to the window coverings. Diversifying into the range of interiordecoratives the company introduced Aluminum Panels forFalse Ceiling. Keeping in view the innovative attitude of the managementcompany setup a research and development wing under theguidance of Sh.K.K. Agarwal the Chairman and ManagingDirector of the company. Foreseeing the internationalfocus and increasing demand for eco-friendly products thecompany started a research programme on vegetable dyes todevelop an Eco friendly range of natural dyes. Then in 1993an agreement was entered into with Indian Institute ofTechnology (I.I.T) Delhi for sponsorship of research anddevelopment programme of Vegetable Dyes. It has furthermoved to get trade marks of Eco ordinates EcodyeEco-cotton Ecoveg. Eco-Logical registered. A pilot plant was set up in the existing unit of thecompany for manufacturing of vegetable dyes and a latestrange of vegetable dyed fabrics and made ups were launchedin the market. Over the period of time the company has established a largemarketing network in India and abroad. The company isexporting its products since 1974 and the major overseasbuyers include Park B Smith Inc. of U.S.A. and Habitat ofU.K. & France.The company has been awarded by Handloom Export PromotionCouncil Madras for export of its product for the year1975-76 1977-78 1981-82 1982-83 and 1984-85 and hasreceived State Export award from Government of U.P. forthe year 1983-84 1984-85 1987-88 1988-89 and 1989-90. The company has also been awarded with Bronze Trophy by TEXPROCIL in the year 1987-88. Overwhelmed by the success of the pilot plant and seeing the excellent response from overseas buyers and to over come production problems due to quality of Yarn and weaving the management conceived the idea for setting up of plant for manufacturing vegetable dyes dyeing of Cotton fibre with Vegetable dyes and Spinning of Vegetable dyed yarn weaving of fabrics therefrom and converting into made ups.
