BSE operates on all weekdays except for designated holidays. The daily schedule is divided into three key sessions:

Pre-Open Session: 9:00 AM – 9:15 AM (Order entry and modification ends at 9:08 AM).
Normal Trading Session: 9:15 AM – 3:30 PM.
Post-Market Session: 3:40 PM – 4:00 PM (Trading at the closing price).

No, the BSE is typically closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The only exceptions are:

Muhurat Trading: Sunday, November 8, 2026 (Diwali).
Special Sessions: Occasional 'Budget Day' sessions or Disaster Recovery (DR) mock trading sessions, which are announced via specific BSE circulars.

For the Equity and Equity Derivative segments, there are no partial days; the market is either fully open or fully closed. However, for Commodity Derivatives, some holidays only close the morning session (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM), while the evening session (5:00 PM – 11:30 PM) remains open.
