FAQs
Expiry is the last day on which a derivatives contract can be traded in that series. After expiry, the contract is settled and the next active series becomes relevant.
Nifty weekly expiry is on Tuesday of the expiry week. If Tuesday is a trading holiday, the expiry moves to the previous trading day. Cannot place orders when the exchange is in expiry
Under the revised NSE schedule, Bank Nifty expiry follows the Tuesday-based expiry rule. If that Tuesday is a holiday, the expiry shifts to the previous trading day.
There is no fixed index expiry on Monday in the standard schedule. A Monday expiry can appear only when the normal expiry day is a holiday and the contract shifts to the previous trading day.
Nifty expiry is the expiry date for Nifty futures and options contracts. NSE’s current schedule places weekly expiry on Tuesday and monthly expiry on the last Tuesday of the expiry month, with holiday-based shifts to the previous trading day.
