The company was originally incorporated as a Public LimitedCompany on 23rd July 1985 with the name of Spotlight Trade &Finance Limited which was changed to the present name ShriyamSecurities & Finance Ltd. w.e.f. 14th May 1993. The name ofthe Company was changed to reflect the ongoing diversificationinto the fields of merchant banking and capital marketoperations. The Shares of the Company were listed on BombayStock Exchange on 24th April 1986.The company made its maiden Public Issue of Equity Sharesaggregating Rs.15 lacs in December 1985 and commenced operationsshortly thereafter. Till the year 1987-88 the main business ofthe company was lending finance and hence the income was by wayof interest. The Company had not made any profits during thatperiod.Historically the Company''s primary activities were in the areaof securities trading. All decisions pertaining to investmentsare taken by a Committee of Directors. By April 1993 it hadalso ventured into consulting services merchant banking etc.The promoters of the company have varied experience in MerchantBanking Corporate Finance Tax planning and Capital MarketOperations.SUBSIDIARY COMPANIESThe Company has a wholly owned subsidiary company ShryamBroking Intermediary Limited incorporated on 23rd September1994 with a view to specialise into the area of broking &portfolio management. This company is a member of the NationalStock Exchange for the Wholesale Debt and Capital MarketSegments.
