The Company was originally incorporated as a PrivateLimited Company under the name of La Opala Glass PrivateLtd. on June 11th 1987 under the Companies Act 1956.The Company was subsequently converted into a Public LimitedCompany and its name changed to La Opala Glass Limited forwhich it obtained a fresh Certificate of Incorporation onMay 30th 1994. The Company entered the crockery market in1987 and introduced for the first time in the country awide range of opalware. Starting with a capacity of 688tpa in Madhupur Bihar the Company expanded the capacity to1032 tpa in 1990-91 and subsequently to 2064 tpa in1993-94. La Opala is today one of the largest crockerybrands in the country. It has a nationwide distributionnetwork which is one of the largest in the country. TheCompany has never faced any labour problems and never hadto resort to factory closure in the past.
