Earlier the company was engaged in the business of:i) Securities tradingii) Investments.No major operations were undertaken during the firstfinancial year of the Company for the period ending 31stDec 1993 till which time exploration of stock brokingservices was made and branch offices were established toprovide necessary services.The Company made an application for membership of theNational Stock Exchange of India Limited for its CapitalMarket Segment in February 1994 and after a series ofselection procedures was eventually admitted as member inMay 1994. The Company has already paid to National StockExchange of India Ltd Rs. 45.00 lacs towards interest freesecurity deposit and Rs. 5.00 lacs towards non adjustabledeposit.Accordingly as per the terms of membership fund basedActivities of the Company were squared up and the Companyis presently eligible to carry only non - fund basedactivities.Presently the Company is engaged in the business ofSecurities Trading and Investments. The Company has earnedan income of Rs. 1.14 lacs from shares and securities inthe Year ended 31st December 1993(14 months).Income from Investments in shares and securities hasIncreased to Rs. 23.38 lacs during the period ended on31.7.94 (seven months). As a result of this Company''sprofit has been increased to Rs. 22.52 lacs.
