InfoTech promoted by Shri. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy and his associateswas incorporated as a Private Limited Company on August 28 1991under the name of Info Tech Enterprises Private Ltd with theobjective of creating facilities for software development and itsexport thereof to global markets. The Company commenced commercialoperations in September 1992.IDBI sanctioned start-up assistance of Rs.97 lakhs under the VentureCapital Scheme in 1991 for the Company''s first project (costing Rs.122 lakhs) envisaging creation of facilities for conversion of paperbased drawings into Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) andGeographical Information Systems (GIS) formats an for developingother software packages. The scheme was successfully completed inSeptember 1992. IDBI converted a portion of its loan amounting toRs.15 lakhs into equity in 1994. The Company obtained a second loanof Rs.100 lakhs from IDBI for expansion of its facilities (the schemecosting Rs.150 lakhs) in 1994 which was successfully completedin January 1995. Having stabilised its operations and gaining astable foothold in the export market InfoTech is now embarking on anexpansion plan envisaging : (i) entry into engineering consultancyfor 3D modelling (ii) expansion (by over 60%) of its CAD/GISConversion Capacity and (iii) doubling of capacity for handlingSoftware projects and product development.Info Tech shares a fully functional 128 KBPS Satellite Link providedby STP Hyderabad and has established its own home page on its WorldWide Web Server on the INTERNET.Identified Niche areas and Product-MixInfoTech has well identified niche areas for software development intune with its relative expertise and skill. The basic thrust areasare : (i) Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and (ii)Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
