Brawn Pharmaceuticals Ltd an existing profit making company was incorporated as a private limited company in the name and style of Brawn Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. on 7th Novemner 1985 and was converted into a Public Limited company on 1st December 1993. The company started its activities by selling pharmaceutical formulations manufactured by other companies on loan licence basis.In December 1987 the company setup its own manufacturing facilities for manufacture of pharmaceutical formulations at W-11 Okhla Industrial Area Phase-Il New Delhi. The plant became operational from July 1988. Since then there has been steady growth in its operations relating to formulations in tablets capsules and oral syrups and trading in other related items. Since the year 1989-90 the company has registered an average growth of 53% in its turnover. The company has also obtained marketing rights from few foreign companies for selling their medical products in the domestic market.The products manufactured by the company arein the categories of Analgesics Antibiotics Anti Tuberculosis Antlinflammatory Antipyretic Anti Malarial B Complex and Amino Acids Cardiovascular dmgs Antiphyscotropic drugs Tranquilizers Antacids Haematinics and proteins with an installed capacity of 2000 lakhstablets 150 lakhs capsules and 2.00 lakhs liters of liquid syrup. The main registered branded products of the company include Bruprim Bruhist Brutone Brugesic.The company is also marketing various products viz portaneb Freeway lite CR-5O Patented side stream nebulizers of multinational like M/s. Medic Aid U.K.The company has entered into a written distribution agreement with Medic Aid U.K. on 20.9.1993 for marketing of products manufactured by Medic Aid in India. The products include Portaneb Freeway-lite CR-50 patented side stream nebulisers which are used by patients suffering from asthma and bronchitis. The salient feature of the agreement are as under:a. The product will be supplied on ex-factroy or FOB prices and comapny has to bear all expenses of freight delivery etc.b. BPL will use trade mark of Medics Aid U.K. for marketing.c. This agreement is valid for 5 years from the date of signing and thereafter to continue till either of the party terminate the agreement.d. OR terminate this Agreement.e. To manufacture turn to account process dispose of or sell generally in all kinds of pharmaceutical goods formulations drugs and cosmetic items and to undertake all activities for the purpose of making medicines and drugs.2. To undertake research work in connection with development of any drugs and medicines for application to human or other cultures of the world and to deal either as principles or agents import and export of machinery and equipment including sub assemblies and other parts or components thereof relating to drugs manufacturing and other equipment which are required for the same.3. To undertake the management of any department project organisation relating to manufacturing of drugs pharmaceuticals and cosmetics whether on turn key basis or otherwise and to render total supervisory services in connection therewith.
