The Company was incorporated as a private limited company on July 16 1970 as “Bharat Dynamics Private Limited” with the Registrar of Companies Hyderabad under the Companies Act 1956. The Board of Directors in their meeting held on October 07 1970 passed a resolution for deleting the word ‘private’ from the name of the Company and the name of the Company was changed to “Bharat Dynamics Limited” pursuant to an amendment to the certificate of incorporation issued by the Registrar of Companies Hyderabad. the Company became a deemed public limited company under Section 43A of the Companies Act 1956 with effect from July 01 1975. Subsequent to the abolition of Section 43A of the Companies Act 1956 with effect from December 13 2000 the Company again became a private limited company.
