Fredun Pharmaceuticals Limited has acquired Furlicks, an innovative pet-wellness brand that focuses on oral-strip products designed to make pet care more convenient. The company said the acquisition brings Furlicks' product innovation and consumer understanding into the FPL Group.

The acquisition also gives Fredun Pharmaceuticals an opportunity to use its existing capabilities in manufacturing, product development, quality systems, R&D, supply chain and distribution to expand the pet-care business.

Furlicks has been acquired from Pharma Major USV and its subsidiary Wellbeing Nutrition.

The brand's portfolio includes products for skin and coat, gut health, joint care, calming, oral care and multivitamins.

The acquisition marks Fredun Pharmaceuticals' entry into India's high-growth pet-wellness market.

Strategic Focus of the Furlicks Acquisition

Fredun Pharmaceuticals plans to build on Furlicks' existing product portfolio while using its own manufacturing, R&D, product development and distribution capabilities.

The company highlighted the growing focus among pet parents on preventive health, nutrition and specialised products for pets. Furlicks' oral-strip format is positioned as an alternative to conventional forms of pet supplements.

Fredun Pharmaceuticals Furlicks Expansion Plans

The immediate focus will be on expanding Furlicks' existing business through new product launches. Fredun Pharmaceuticals plans to introduce 12 new SKUs in the first phase, while 32 additional SKUs are aligned for the second phase.

Over the longer term, the company aims to develop Furlicks from an oral-strip-focused brand into a broader everyday pet-wellness platform.
