NAGARJUNAAGRI TECH LTD. was originally incorporated asNagarjuna Health Products Pvt. Ltd. on November 24 1987for the manufacturing processing extracting tradingimporting exporting and dealing with all kinds ofayurvedic and herbal medicines horticulture FLORICULTUREetc. as its main objectives with Dr. K.V.L.N. Raju andDr. B. Bapuji as its first directors. The company hadstarted implementing one of its main objectives ofmanufacturing herbal and ayurvedic medicines on anexperimental basis on leased land till 1991. However theeconomics of the project were not as envisaged by thecompany. Consequent to the Government''s liberal economicpolicies and encouragement to floriculture the companydecided to discontinue the manufacturing of herbal andayurvedic medicines and ventured into the field offloriculture which is one of the main objectives of thecompany.The company later changed its name to Nagarjuna Agri TechPvt. Ltd. on April 5 1994 vide resolution passed on March23 1994 as per the Companies Act 1956. The Company wassubsequently converted into a public limited company onJanuary 19 1995 vide resolution passed on September 31994 under the provisions of Section 31/44 of the CompaniesAct 1956. The Company is presently implementing a 100% EOUfor cultivation and growth of 11.25 million cut-roseflowers per annum in five green house of one hectare eachfor export.
