Garware Hi-Tech Films Signs MoU with Lubrizol for Advanced TPU-Based Film Solutions

Garware Hi-Tech Films Lubrizol MoU Details
The partnership is aimed at developing and manufacturing Lubrizol's TPU technology in India. According to the company, the collaboration represents a step towards building a technology-led TPU product platform across new specialty applications.
The partnership will combine Lubrizol's global TPU technology and material science expertise with GHFL's engineering, processing and manufacturing capabilities to develop and commercialise high-value TPU-based products.
Garware Hi-Tech Films TPU Film Investment
GHFL plans to invest approximately rupee 118 crore in advanced TPU film extrusion and manufacturing capabilities. The dedicated TPU film extrusion capability is expected to be operational by December 2026.
Nearly 25% of the investment is expected to be allocated towards new product development and technology capabilities. The company expects the investment to support product development, prototyping and commercialisation while enabling it to respond faster to changing customer requirements.
The initiative is also expected to improve the economics of the company's PPF business and support an incremental improvement of 150-200 basis points in consolidated EBITDA margins.
Garware Hi-Tech Films PPF Capacity Expansion
The collaboration will enable GHFL to backward integrate into a critical input for its premium PPF business. The company said the facility is expected to be India's first dedicated TPU extrusion platform for Premium PPF.
The initiative will also support the company's expansion of PPF manufacturing capacity to over 600 LSF (Lakh Square Feet).
The in-house TPU extrusion capability is expected to provide greater control over a critical input, improve product consistency and manufacturing efficiency, strengthen supply-chain resilience and reduce dependence on imported TPU films.
Garware Hi-Tech Films Specialty Product Expansion
The collaboration is expected to create opportunities across automotive, architectural, industrial, electronics and other high-value specialty applications.
The company aims to develop new TPU-based products and participate in technology-driven product categories, expanding its addressable market beyond its existing applications.
