YORK EXPORTS LIMITED (YEL) was incorporated as a PrivateLimited Company on March 21 1983 as York Exports Pvt Ltdunder the Companies Act 1956. It became a Deemed PublicLimited Company on July 1 1989 under section 43A of theCompanies Act 1956. Subsequently the shareholders passeda resolution on September 26 1994 for deleting therestriction clause under section 3(i)(iii) from theArticles of Association of the company and as such thecompany became full fledged public limited company withinthe meaning of section 3(i)(iv) of the Companies Act 1956.YEL is presently engaged in the manufacture of woollenknitwear/hosiery goods for exports with capacity of 2 lacspcs. per annum at its factory at Civil Lines Ludhiana. Thenew project unit is proposed to be set up at villageNandpur Sahnewal 10 kms from Ludhiana on theLudhiana-Delhi Highway.YEL is an existing profit making Company. YEL hascontinuously paid dividends since 1990-91 except for theyear 1992-93. Majority of YEL''s production is beingexported to Russia and now it proposes to expand anddiversify its exports to European markets and sell inIndian Markets through an expansion plan of its presentcapacity from 200000 pcs. to 317000 pcs. per annum.
