Vikalp Securities Ltd. is an existing company which wasincorporated on 28th February 1986 under the name ofVikalp Consultants (P) Ltd. The name was subsequentlychanged to Vikalp Securities Ltd. at an Extra OrdinaryGeneral Meeting held on 28th October 1994 & a freshcertificate of incorporation was issued on 23rd November1994. The Company was incorporated with an object to carryout consultancy work regarding financial legalsecretarial industrial management business and taxationmatters technical & engineering services techno-economicsurveys and market research. However no major activity wasundertaken by it to pursue the above objects.Subsequently its prime area of operation was shiftedtowards money market and investment activities as providedin the clause 6 of the main object of the Company in itsMemorandum of Association. This clause provides as under:-''To carry on business as company promoters underwritersfinanciers brokers Managers to the issue advisor to theissue Registrars & Transfer agents executors trusteesand generally to undertake and execute agencies oncommissions of any kind and to help in negotiation andarrange for the borrowing or lending of money or thesubscription or underwriting of shares debentures andother securities provided that the Company shall not carryon banking business as defined in Banking Regulation Act1949. The Company started investments in shares &debentures from Nov. 1993 and since then it has beenengaged in the field of investment banking.
