SANTOSH FINE-FAB LIMITED. (SFFL) was originallyincorporated on the 16th October 1981 as HIMALAYA SILKMILLS PRIVATE LIMITED. The Santosh group tookover M/s.Himalaya Silk Mills Pvt Limited in1987. The business underthe sad name was carried on upto 22nd April 1992whereafter the name of the Company was changed to SANTOSHFINE-FAB PRIVATE LIMITED so that it gets closely identifiedwith the Santosh Group which has an established name in themarket. Subsequently the Company has been converted intoa Limited Company. w.e.f. 6th October 1994 and a freshcertificate of change of name dt. 18.10.94 was obtainedfrom Registrar of Companies Maharashtra Bombay. TheCompany is having an existing weaving unit at Plot No.L-40 MIDC Tarapur Dist Thane with a capacity of 6.88lac mtrs of suiting per annum.The Company (as Himalaya Silk Mills Pvt. Ltd.) wasoriginally promoted by Shri Ramniranjan Kedia SureshchandKedia Smt. Sarda Devi Kedia & Shri Prahladrai Poddar. TheCompany was dormant till the take over by the Santosh Groupby way of induction of Directors on 10/4/87 and acquisitionof shares which got transferred in the Company''s books on18/4/87. The Company then started operations of thepresent factory and commercial production was started inJuly 1988. In the first year of operations (15 monthsended March 1989) the Company achieved a net sales of Rs.73.96 lacs on which it incurred a loss of Rs. 6.4 lacs.The Company has not/is not facing any major labourproblems. There have not been any closure of the Companytill date. Business: The group started in the textile business withcotton fabric trading activity. Over a period of time ashift has been made to synthetic fabrics and yarn andcotton fabric trading was discontinued by 1982. Till 1978the group was essentially involved in trading but after1978 they also started manufacturing of grey fabrics.As of today SFFL manufactures grey fabrics. They greyfabric is processed on job work basis at reputed processhouses. The finished cloth is subsequently sold throughtheir dealer network.
