Nicco Parks & Resorts Ltd. was incorporated on March 17 1989as a Joint Sector Company with National Insulated Cable Co.Ltd. (now Nicco Corporation Ltd.) from the private sector andthe Government of West Bengal represented by West BengalIndustrial Development Corporation Limited (WBIDC) and WestBengal Tourism Development Corporation Limited (WBTDC) to set upan Amusement Park on the outskirts of Calcutta. The Certificateof Commencement of Business was obtained on March 31 1989.The purpose of the project was to provide wholesome fun thrilland educative family entertainment and also to attract touriststo the State. The project was implemented successfully withtechnical advice from Blackpool Leisure & Amusement ConsultancyLtd. of U.K. The Park was opened to the public in October 1991.The project received favourable response from the people of WestBengal and tourists coming to the State.2. MAIN OBJECTSThe main objects of the Company as set out in the Memorandum ofAssociation areas under:1 ) To carry on business of providing amusement andentertainment of all sorts to the public or in private. 2) To carry on business on own take on lease hire or otherwiseacquire temporarily or permanently in circus opera theatrecinema house open space park tank garden or other places ofamusement and to manage and run the same.3) To promote conduct and operate circuses carnivals picnicand dancing parties exhibitions expenditions excursionoutdoor or indoor parties or other entertaining features and forsuch purposes or in connection with the business of the Companyto run passenger cars or other conveyances refreshments boothsand restaurants.4) To organise symposium dramas plays literary and amusementprogrammes whether on screen or in the open or indoors oranywhere and for such purpose to acquire the goodwill rightscopyrights property dramatic and musical products of anyperson or persons on such terms as may be expedient. To engageor hire the service of musicians or any other individuals tocarry on the business of the Company.5) To act as consultants and advisers whether financialtechnical or otherwise in India or outside India.3. PRESENT BUSINESS OF THE COMPANYThe objective of the Park is to provide wholesome fun andeducational recreation. Apart from the various rides it alsohas a popular Food Park. The Park has received favourableresponse and blue-chip companies like ITC TISCO BrittaniaIndustries Bata Nestle Smith Kline Beecham Union CarbideDunlop ANZ Grindlays Duncans Goodricke Cadburys are usingthe Park to promote their products by sponsoring rides and otherforms of advertisements in the park premises. The installationof the Solar Energy Village depicting the various uses of thisalternative form of energy has also received favourable responsefrom the public and is in keeping with Company''s policy ofproviding educative inputs coupled with entertainment.The following facilities are currently available at the Park:a.
