The Company was incorporated under the name and style of "Elegant Marbles Private Limited" on 5th November 1984.The Company was promoted by Mr. Rajesh Agrawal & Mr. Rakesh Agrawal to set up a plant to manufacture Polished Marble Tiles with an installed capacity of 33000 sq.mtrs per annum. the project was implemented in a period of six months and commenced production in August 1985.In a short span of time the Company established its product in to the domestic and overseas markets.With a view to broad base its product range and take advantage of growing market the Company diversified into manufacture of Marble Slabs by setting up production facilities with an installed capacity to manufacture 47000 sq. mtrs of Marble Slabs per annum in 1987.In 1989 the Company also started trading in Granite Tiles & Slabs and executed export orders to USA Europe Middle East and Singapore.Keeping in mind the growing demand for Indian Granie both in the Domestic and Foreign markets and the thrust given by Government of India for development of Granite Industry the Company set up production facilities to manufacture 16100 sq. mts of Granite Slabs per annum at its existing site at Abu Road.The trial runs at the plant were completed in March 1994 and the commercial production commenced in May 1994.The Company is one of the few plants in the country where integrated production facilities for Marble Tiles Marble Slabs and Granite Slabs are available under one roof. The name of the Company was changed to Elegant Marbles and Grani Industries Pvt Ltd on 8th June 1994 and was converted into a Public Limited Company on July 11 1994 and acquired its present name.The Company has established itself as a reputed supplier of Marble Tiles and Slabs and its products have been accepted in both Domestic and Overseas Markets.The Company has been exporting its products to USA Japan Singapore and Gulf Countries in the past and has developed a good base for itself in European Markets. In India thee are two types of industries namely Granites and Marbles. the Company is having production facilities for both the products. The Company enjoys processing facilities for manufacturing mirror polished marble tiles processed on Italian machines. The Company also has facilities for processing marble slabs. In addition the Company recently added processing facilities for producing polished granite slabs and thus broad based its product range. One critical area in the industry is marketing of the product. The Company right since the beginning has stressed on direct marketing to thecustomer/architects/interior decorators instead of routing the products only through a dealer network. This gives the Company an edge over other producers since the marketing department is always in constant touch with customers and has access to the latest feed-back/trends prevailing in the market. In addition the company has now started importing marble blocks from Italy and after processing is able tohave high value addition.
