TheHead Office of the Bank was set up at Esplanade Road Fort Mumbai(then known as Bombay) which was subsequently shifted to its presentlocation at Chandermukhi Nariman Point Mumbai 400 021.Pre NationalisationThe Bank commenced business as "The Central Bank of India Limited" atMumbai. The Central Bank Executor and Trustee Company Limited (laterrenamed as Centbank Financial and Custodial Services Limited) wasincorporated as a Subsidiary of the Bank on May 1 1929 to undertakethe trustee and executor business and act as executors administratorsand trustees.Post NationalisationThe Bank was nationalised on July 19 1969. After nationalisation theBank was renamed Central Bank of India. Apna Ghar Vitta Nigam Limited(later renamed as Cent Bank Home Finance Limited) was incorporated as aSubsidiary of the Bank on May 7 1991 to provide long term finance forthe purchase or construction of houses in India.Key Milestones1929 The Central Bank Executor and Trustee Company Limited was incorporated as a Subsidiary of the Bank 1969 The Bank was nationalized.1984 Our joint venture Indo-Zambia Bank Limited was incorporated.1991 Apna Ghar Vitta Nigam Limited was incorporated as a Subsidiary of the Bank.2007 The Bank restructured its entire paid up capital by conversion of an amount aggregating Rs. 8000 million out of the equity share capital of Rs. 11241.40 million into perpetual non- cumulative preference share capital while retaining the balance amount aggregating Rs.3241.41 million as equity share capital of the Bank.
