The Company was Incorporated in the state of Maharashtra on 21st April 1971 as a private limited company under the name of HAKIMRAI JAICHAND FORGINGS PRIVATE LIMITED by Shri Yogiraj Makar and ShrI SurindernathMakar. After incorporation it became a partner In "M/s. Hakimrai Jaichand" which was engaged in the manufacture of forgings and engineering steel files at Bhandup. The installed capacity was 15000 tpa. During 1974 the Company took over the running business of the firm upon its dissolution. The manufacture of engineering files was discontinued during 1976.The name of the Company was changed to Amforge Industries Private Limited with effect from 9th December 1985. The Company became a deemed public company under Section 43A of the Companies Act with effect from27th December 1985. Since then the Company is known by present name Amforge Industries Limited.During the year 1985 the Company entered into a five year technical services agreement with Goshu Forge Company Limited a leading Japanese manufacturer of forgings for updating its technology inter alia for manufacture of "close tolerance" forgings. This was needed in order to meet the demand of such international quality standard forgings fromthe automobile units that were being set up with foreign collaborations. Consequently a 2500 M.T. Japanese Forging Press was installed at an outlay of Rs. 4.50 crores.During 1989-90 for meeting the growing domestic as well as international demand for heavy forgings the Company established a separate unit at Khopoli in Maharashtra with a capacity of 15000 tpa of forgings.
