Founded in 2003, Tonbo Imaging India Ltd. is engaged in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced sensing, imaging, communication, and guidance systems primarily used in defence and security applications. The company focuses on compact and modular technologies that support surveillance, reconnaissance, targeting, and battlefield awareness operations. 

Product Portfolio

The company’s offerings are broadly divided into three major categories:

• Tactical Systems: Imaging and surveillance solutions designed for soldiers and security personnel for reconnaissance, targeting, and monitoring applications.

• Platform Systems: Integrated subsystems deployed across land, air, and weapon platforms, including selected unmanned and loitering munition applications. 

• Directed Energy Systems: High-power microwave and counter-drone solutions integrated with long-range detection and tracking capabilities for both day and night operations. 

Tonbo’s technologies are used in applications such as remote weapon stations, missile seekers, situational awareness systems, optical reconnaissance payloads, and driver vision enhancement systems for armoured vehicles. 

Business Model & Operations

The company follows an asset-light operating model focused on horizontal integration. While Tonbo retains ownership of core product design and intellectual property, manufacturing activities are outsourced to certified electronics manufacturing partners, including companies such as Kaynes Technology India Limited and Avalon Technology & Services Private Limited. 

In addition to serving domestic customers, the company has expanded its international presence and, as of June 30, 2025, supplied products across 24 countries, including the USA, UAE, South Korea, Armenia, Romania, Slovenia, Morocco, and the Philippines.

As of June 30, 2025, the company had 293 permanent employees supporting its research, engineering, operations, and business activities.
