Larsen & Toubro Wins Major BESS Order

Larsen & Toubro’s Renewables business vertical has secured a major order for the development of three Battery Energy Storage System projects in the Middle East.

The three projects will collectively provide 6 GWh of storage capacity, supporting grid modernisation and renewable energy integration across the region.

The order is classified as “Major” under L&T’s internal order classification, corresponding to a value of RS 5,000 crore to RS 10,000 crore.

Larsen & Toubro BESS Project Scope

In addition to the battery storage facilities, the project packages include grid interconnections and related infrastructure.

The scope covers pooling substations and underground cables, alongside the development of the BESS facilities.

Each of the three projects will feature a 4-hour Battery Energy Storage System capable of storing and dispatching energy to support grid stability and renewable energy integration.

Larsen & Toubro Energy Storage Technology

The BESS solutions will enable energy shifting by storing surplus clean energy generated during off-peak periods and delivering it during peak demand hours.

The systems will incorporate liquid cooling technology, designed to support higher power density, enhanced safety and extended operational life.
