Muhurat Trading is an auspicious one-hour market session, a symbolic start to a prosperous financial year marked with optimism and tradition. Investors usually mark their calendars for an evening window, lighting up both diyas and portfolio hopes after sunset. However, this year there's a little twist in the Muhurat Trading timings.

For 2025, both the NSE and BSE have shifted the Muhurat Trading session to an afternoon slot. Instead of the usual post-evening Lakshmi Poojan timing, the markets will open for this auspicious trading hour on:

• Tuesday, October 21, 2025
• 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm

Why Muhurat Trading Timings Got Changed

The shift in the session has been introduced to align more closely with the Kartika Amavasya Tithi, considered highly auspicious in Hindu astrology. By aligning the session with this shubh muhurat, the symbolic and spiritual significance of Muhurat Trading is further enhanced.

2. Pre-open Session (price discovery): 1:30 pm – 1:45 pm
