ORIENTAL VENEER PRODUCTS LIMITED (ORIENTAL) incorporated on 8th March 1991 as a Private Limited Company was converted into a Public Limited Company on 3rd July 1995. The Company has been promoted by the Mithiborwala Group comprising Shri Sateh N. Mithiborwala Shri Saifuddin S. Mithiborwala Shri Karim D. Karimi and Shri Vail N.Mithiborwala. The Group has been trading in timberproducts for the past 75 years. The Company is engaged inthe manufacture of Veneers and has its existing unit atTaluka: Shahpur District : Thane. The licensed capacityof the unit is 155000 Cu.ft. based on 1 shift working and300 working days. The unit was set up through financialassistance from SICOM and MSFC. The commercial production of veneers was started on 1st January 1994 within the estimated project cost. The Company produced Veneers at 25% capacity utilisation duringthe first year of operation and is presently achieving 35% capacity utilisation. The Principal Outstanding in respect of the SICOM term loan as of today is Rs. 111 lacs. Our experience of the Company and promoter has been satisfactory. The unit has a capacity to produce 155000 cu. ft. per annum of veneers on one shift and 300 working days basis. The Company manufactures veneers for captive consumption for its units at Ramanagaram Bangalore as per the licence stipulations of the Government of India. The Company as a part of forward integration now proposes to set up facilities at its existing unit for the manufacture of Compreg Boards i.e resin impregnated densified laminated boards of 10" x 4" size and 12mm thickness based on 3 shifts and 300 working days.
