Vijay Tubes & Cones Pvt. Ltd.(VTCPL) incorporated as aprivate limited company has been promoted by the KAPURS.The KAPURS are engaged in textiles and various otheractivities for the past 4 decades.VTCPL was engaged in the manufacture of laminated papercontainers for Defense Department and had been in thebusiness for over 20 years. In view of the totaldependence on the Defense Department orders the companywas unable to increase or expand its activities andbusiness. Though the company had made good profits in theeighties in that line later on it did not do well andincurred cast losses.The Kapur family being well versed in the field of exportsof textiles with the experience gathered in the erstwhileKidarnath Kishanchand Pvt. Ltd. in which they held a 50%stake they decided to close the existing loss makingactivity and focus on the manufacture of quality fabricsfor export. The company has since been approved as a 100%E.O.U. for the manufacture and export of textiles.With effect from 16th March 1994 the name of the companyhas been changed from Vijay Tubes and Cones (P) Ltd. to VTCIndustries (P) Ltd. and was later converted into a publiclimited company on 14th April 1994.PRESENT BUSINESS OF THE COMPANYThe company is engaged solely in the manufacture of qualitygrey fabrics for export. The company currently operateswith 24 Sulzer Projectile Looms with its back processmachinery from its premises at Nasik (MIDC Satpur)manufacturing Plain and Drill Grey Cotton Fabric of widerwidths.The company has an installed capacity of 24 looms and interms of fabric production 49.84 lakh sq. meters. Themachines used by the company are multi-width weavingmachines capable of producing 2 or 3 webs at a time. Thecompany procures yarn from the market as also procurescotton and gets job work done to manufacture yarn andundertakes only pre-weaving and weaving operations.
