The Company commenced operations with the settingup of a Rigid PVC Pipes plant at Hissar in 1981. Over theyears it has taken up various expansion anddiversification schemes. The Company at present hasproduction facilities at Kashipur Uttar Pradesh (Black &White Picture Tubes Rigid PVC Pipes & Video MagneticTapes) Pithampur Madhya Pradesh (Black & White PictureTubes & Rigid PVC Pipes) Champa Madhya Pradesh (SpongeIron with Power Co-Generation facilities Steel Ingots andHeavy & Medium Steel Structural) Ganua & Koira Orissa(Iron Ore Mining Crushing & Screening) Rayya Punjab(Rigid PVC Pipes) and Muppandal Tamil Nadu (Wind Farm).The Company''s operations over the years have shownprogressive improvement. The trunover and net profits haveincreased from Rs 105.41 Crores and Rs.4.98 Croresrespectively in the year 1990-91 to Rs.464.75 Crores andRs.44.16 Crores respectively for the year 1994-95. Theperformance of the Company pursuant to commissioning ofthe Sponge Iron and Steel Ingots Plant towards the end of1993 has shown substantial improvement. The Company hasmaintained a consistent dividend record since thecommencement of operations in 1981.
