The Company was incorporated as ‘Rail India Technical and Economic Services Private Limited’ on April 26 1974 as a private limited company under the Companies Act 1956 and was granted a certificate of incorporation by the then Registrar of Companies Delhi & Haryana. The word ‘private’ was deleted from the name of the Company* on February 17 1976. Thereafter the name of the Company was changed to its present name ‘RITES Limited’ on March 28 2000 pursuant to a fresh certificate of incorporation issued by the RoC National Capital Territory of Delhi and Haryana.
