M/S VIPUL DYES AND CHEMICALS LIMITED (VDCL) wasincorporated as a Private Limited Company on 21-06-1972with the main object of manufacturing marketing andtrading in dye intermediates and chemicals. It wassubsequently converted into a Public Limited Company on the8-04-1993 and changed it''s name from M/S VIPUL DYES ANDCHEMICALS LIMITED to VIPUL DYE-CHEM LIMITED on 24-06-1993.During the period from year 1972 to 1977 the Company wasinvolved in trading of dye intermediates and chemicals.The Company in 1977 started its manufacturing activitiesat Thane Belapur to manufacture Vat Dyes such as VatIndigo Vat Brown RID Vat Blue 2 B etc. which were sold tothe textile mills of Bombay.In 1984-85 due to strike by workers of Textile Industry inBombay the manufacturing activities were suspended and theCompany changed its marketing strategy and concentrated onexport and slowly established itself as a company capableof delivering goods of the required quality. In 1991Company restarted manufacturing activities with thecapacity of 24 mt p.a of Blue B Base at Diwan IndustrialEstate Palghar. Blue B Base is a dye intermediate usedin dispersed dyes.The company is a government recognised Export House. Itexports dye intermediates to Switzerland Hong Kong WestGermany USA Italy. Some of the clients are M/s. DolderA. G. (Switzerland) M/s. Chemag A. G. (West Germany) M/sAmerican Fine Chemical Co. U.S.A. M/s Peekay ChemicalsLtd. Canada and M/s Ve. Co. Tex. S.R.L. Italy. etc. Thecompany also exports dye intermediates manufactured bygroup firms/companies as well as those manufactured byothers.Beginning with exports turnover of Rs. 40 lacs in 1984 ithas now increased by more than 10 times. Turnover for theyear ended 31-3-1994 was Rs. 4.99 crores. The totalturnover of the group was around Rs. 10 crores for the yearended 31-03-1994.MAIN OBJECTS OF THE COMPANYThe main objects of the Company as set out in theMemorandum & Articles of Association inter alia include;To carry on the business of manufacture process purchaseresale export import and commission agency of all typesof laboratory fine and heavy chemicals whether organic orinorganic and including dyes acid and intermediates andminerals and to refine purify derivate crystaliseprocess dry and to carry out such other processesactivity or activities to carry out this object.
