BRIGHT BROTHERS LIMITED (BBL) was incorporated as a PrivateLimited Company on 11th July 1946 and commenced its businessthereafter under the leadership of Mr.T.W.Bhojwani. The Companywas converted into full fledged Public Limited Company on 27thJune 1994 and was issued a fresh certificate dt. 6th October1994 of the change of name by the ROC Maharashtra at Bombay.BBL started its manufacturing operation in a rented premise atTardeo in Bombay and was manufacturing Umbrella handlesCigarette Cases Table lamps Tables and Wash Basins fabricatedout of PERSPEX (Acrylic) Sheets. In 1948 the company installedits first injection moulding machine and started manufacturinghousehold items like Combs Bangles Mugs etc. which were soldunder the trade name "BRITE". This Trade name is owned by thecompany and is registered in the name of the Company since 1946.The company installed vacuum forming and vacuum metalizingmachines in the late forties which improved the product qualityand sales appeal.BBL pioneered the concept of plastic shopping bags and plasticwater buckets in India which was introduced in the earlyfifties. In 1952 BBL expanded its product range to includetooth brush and hair brushes and a range of plastic toys.In the sixties the company set up a Research and DevelopmentDepartment which developed a number of armament and lightweapons stores. These are still being used by the Indian Army.In the year 1962 the company shifted its manufacturingoperations to Bhandup to cater to its growing product range.The factory building is located on land admeasuring 26671sq.meters.After acquiring the necessary expertise in manufacturing variousitems using the injection moulded process the Gompany went infor acquisition of the rights for several products/processesfrom abroad including the ENGEL process KABERIT process and aproprietary range of plastic spheres known as the "ALLPLAS"system which is used on liquid surfaces to prevent evaporationand reduce energy costs in heating.In the seventies the company diversified into manufacture ofhi-tech precision industrial products for supply to OriginalEquipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Phillips Bush IndiaVoltas Mico and others. The Company''s Tool Room which was setup in the early fifties was modernised in the late seventiesgiving the company the ability to upgrade the size and precisionof its moulds. With this facility the company is presentlycatering to other OEMs like Telco Maruti Udyog KineticEngineering Onida Voltas Godrej Bajaj Auto BPL BajajTempo.In the eighties certain OEMs required manufacturing facilitiesto be located next to their own factories for implementing "Justin Time Techniques" and for better co-ordination and qualitycontrol. This led the company to promote BRITE AUTOMOTIVE ANDPLASTICS LIMITED (BAPL) at Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh to caterprimarily to the requirements of Kinetic Honda Motors Limited.BAPL manufactures and sells under the brand name "BRITE" andpays royalty of 2.5% of its sales to BBL the owner of the brandname. BAPL went public in 1986 and the shares are currentlylisted at Indore Ahmedabad and Bombay Stock Exchanges.In 1989 the company set up manufacturing operations in TarapurMaharashtra with an installed capacity of 850 tpa by installingthree injection moulding machines. This plant mainly caters tothe demand of the consumer electronics and AutomobileIndustries. In 1989 the company also installed a fullyautomatic spray painting plant imported from Japan for paintingmoulded TV cabinets for ONIDA with a painting capacity of onemillion cabinets per annum.Presently the Company an installed capacity of 3000 tpa andfacilities at Bhandup in Bombay and at Tarapur in Maharashtrafor manufacturing plastic moulded goods for domestic andconsumers being sold unde the brand name "BRITE".
